So glad we had the chance to enjoy the fun with these two lil munchkins!

Halloween Nights
The big treat for us this Halloween was tagging along with Meg, Ryan, and the kids at Greenfield Village's Halloween Nights. The kids got a big kick out of all the goings on and we got a big kick out of watching them. Pictures tell the story...

Free vs. Freedom
I had the pleasure of spending my Saturday with Collin. We kept busy all day. He baked some pumpkin cookies and managed to eat quite a few. He helped with yardwork, we played Candyland, puzzles, watched a movie, took a couple walks, played hide-and-go-seek and scared each other at the same time pretty good! Our afternoon outing was to Meijer to take three garbage bags of cans back for refund. I told him he could keep the money for all the cans he put in the bin. He put in 106 cans and got $10.60!
He wanted to buy some gum, he picked Juicy Fruit (an old favorite of mine) and shared it with me all afternoon. I bought candy pumpkins for baby sis treat after she goes on the potty :) and bananas. We each paid with our money from the cans and he walked away with a good amount of change for his piggy bank. As we were walking out of the store, he asked about all the photos on the wall, pictures of the fine men and women who serve our country in the military. I told him that those are our real heroes, they fight for our country so we can be safe and free... there was no response, just silence while he thought that through. Less than 30 seconds later he says "We're not free, we just had to pay!"Yes, you're right buddy and the price of fun just keeps going up, up, up!!!I started to describe the difference between free and freedom but that's another conversation for when he's a little older.
Collin, I love how inquisitive you are and how you want to understand and make sense of everything. I hope you stay that way and are careful to measure what you're told and believe on truth and not someone's explanation or opinion. God Bless you, Collin, and God Bless America and the fine men and women who serve in the military to keep us safe and protect our freedom. :)
The sky's the limit ~

Who doesn't love fall!
Everyone in our parts say the same thing... We love fall, all the beautiful colors, cool, crisp temps as we segue between the heat of summer and brace ourselves for the cold days ahead. Today was a beautiful fall day so we took the little ones out this afternoon for a few pix. Well, we took lots but let's just say it is not the easiest task around. I applaud people who do it for a living and do it well!
They might still be little people but they bring enormous amounts of joy to us and we are happy for every moment we get to spend with them. Next up, halloween pix. Just a week away - yikes!!!
